WALTER PAGET
The younger brother of Sidney
Paget.
Walter Paget was originally intended to be the illustrator of
the Sherlock Holmes stories in the Strand Magazine, but the envelope was
mistakenly addressed to Sidney. Nonetheless Walter was immortalized by Sidney, who used
his brother as a model for Sherlock Holmes. After Sidney’s death in January 1908,
Walter illustrated one Strand Magazine story,
